Dr. Sato is investigating the pathomechanisms of inflammatory demyelinating disease in the central nervous system (CNS), using animal models for multiple sclerosis: Theiler’s murine encephalomyelitis virus (TMEV) infection and experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE). Dr. Sato is also investigating a role of immune cells in TMEV-induced myocarditis.
