The regulations and minimal requirements for the Doctor of Philosophy degree are described in the Catalog/Bulletin of LSU Health Sciences Center. In addition, administrative procedures pertaining to registration, preliminary examination, final examination/dissertation defense, grading, and student travel for students at LSUHSC-Shreveport are described in the folder "Policies and Procedures" prepared by the Assistant Dean, School of Graduate Studies, LSUHSC-Shreveport. The student should be aware of these policies and procedures as well as the fact that specific forms must be completed to document the student's academic progress.

The student should appreciate that the Catalog/Bulletin describes minimal requirements for the doctoral degree and that additional and more stringent requirements are imposed by the Department of Microbiology and Immunology. This document describes these requirements and regulations.
